Good Morning Shawnee Trail

One of the fun and good things about having children at the same school is the chance to see them recognized at the same time. :) Every Friday at our elementary school there is a morning assembly called Good Morning Shawnee Trail and they do the pledge, sing a song, have a moment of silence (remember how we used to PRAY in school!! now it is only a moment of silence), announcements, birthday recognitions for the week, awards, etc ... kind of a fun pep rally to kick off the day. This morning at Good Morning Shawnee Trail Landry was called up front with others who were celebrating birthdays this week and got his birthday pencil, it was a fun moment for him. It was an even bigger moment for Kelsey, she was recognized for participating in the Bluebonnet Reading List - you read books from the Bluebonnet Award list and take a test - she fell in the reading 10 -14 books category and received a medal. She has done this the last 3 years and has gotten a medal each time - yea Kelsey! She had started out thinking she would read all 20 and get a trophy but did not make it to that level. We are so proud of her. Here are some of the photos from this morning ....
Kelsey on the top row in pink and white showing off her medal with the other 5th graders that participated in the reading challenge.

Oh look there is Dave standing in line with Landry's class giving the Kindergartners a hard time - you can just see the top of Landry's head.
Look at Kelsey on the stage doing the morning movement dance.

Landry up front with his birthday pencil ... Is he really 6??? He is in the blue shirt leaning up against the stage.

The photos are all out of sequence sorry about that - there's Landry going up to the stage after his name was announced. Happy Birthday Landry!
